During my training in rheumatology (Hospital Universitario Clínico San Cecilio, Granada), I felt the need to improve the medical care of children with rheumatic diseases, which encouraged me to train in paediatrics (Hospital Universitario Virgen del Rocío, Sevilla) and to move to London for an internship at the Department of Rheumatology at Great Ormond Street Hospital for children.
Member of the Official College of Physicians of Barcelona (registration number 48742), the Spanish Society of Rheumatology (SER), the Spanish Society of Paediatric Rheumatology (SERPE), and the Paediatric Rheumatology European Society (PReS). I work since 2012 as paediatric rheumatologist at the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona.
Author of multiple presentations in medical conferences and publications on paediatric rheumatology, coordinator of the National Working Group on Juvenile Dermatomyositis, professor in the Master in Paediatric Rheumatology at the University of Barcelona. The commitment to my profession prompted me to create my own lines of research, which I have been able to develop thanks to the support of my colleagues, numerous scholarships and awards granted by scientific societies, and the invaluable collaboration of the families of children with rheumatic diseases.
Why I have created this project
After more than 15 years of dedication to paediatric rheumatology
I felt the need to create a space to transmit medical information
in a close and understandable way.
This is an online space where we will design a treatment plan for your child’s disease, we will talk about the issues that concern you, and we will solve the doubts that always arise when a new diagnosis is made.
Good adherence to treatment is essential for the remission of the disease, which in the majority of children will allow them to carry out a normal life.
